About us

A small crew that measures before it builds

Tamarack Retrofit is nine people in Burlington. Indira Acharya started the firm because she was tired of watching good houses get insulated blind. Every job here starts with a measurement, and the measurement goes in writing to the person who owns the house.

Who is in your house

Four of us you'll hear from. Nine in all.

  • Indira Acharya

    Owner, runs the tests

Runs every blower door test and writes every report herself, and is the voice on the phone for questions about it.

  • Yair Rueda

    Lead carpenter

Leads the crews on windows, doors and exterior walls. Speaks Spanish.

  • Toufic Jaber

    Air sealing and insulation lead

Leads the attic, wall and basement crews. Speaks Arabic.

  • Cassie Foster

    Project manager

Schedules the work, orders the materials and keeps the estimate and the job in step.

How we work

Four habits

  • 01

    Measure first

No quote before the test. We would rather lose a job than guess at a house.

  • 02

    Say it in writing

The report, the estimate, any change: all on paper before any work.

  • 03

Close the leaks before adding insulation

    In that order, every time.

  • 04

    Say what we'd leave alone

Sometimes the best advice is to do less.

Meet us at the front door

Book a test and Indira will be the one running the fan.
