Price
How pricing works
We print no prices on this site. Houses differ too much, and the number is only useful once the test has run. Here is what moves it.
What moves the price
The size of the house, how many leaks the test finds, what the walls and attic are made of, how easy they are to reach, the windows, and how much you want to do in one go.

What the estimate covers, and what it leaves out
The estimate lists each fix as a line tied to the report, with materials, labor and a time window. Anything it leaves out is named on the same page.
Each line tied to a leak in the report
Materials and labor
A time window
Exclusions, written out
What the test visit is
It is a paid visit of about a morning. The fee is written in your booking before we come, and it comes off the contract if you hire us. You keep the report either way.
How you pay
A deposit when you sign, then payments as work is done, as set out in your contract. We tell you what is due before we start, and what state rules say about deposits.
If the job changes
If we find something behind a wall, we stop, show you and write the change down with its price. Nothing goes on the bill that you haven't agreed to in writing.
Who buys the materials
We do, from the list in the estimate. Where you choose, such as siding or windows, the allowance is a line and the choice is yours.
Order of work
Why air sealing comes before insulation, and insulation before windows
A rough guide to how the work usually ranks. Your report may differ.
- 01First
Step 1: Air sealing
Closes the leaks that insulation can't stop. It is usually the first line in the report.
- 02Second
Step 2: Insulation
Slows heat once air has stopped moving through it.
- 03Third
Step 3: Windows and doors
Worth the cost when the test shows the openings leaking or the frames failing.
- 04Last
Step 4: Heating equipment
Sized last, for the tighter house.
About the price
Why no prices?
Because the number depends on your house and the test. A made-up figure would mislead. We give you a written estimate after the report.
Is there a minimum job?
We take jobs of any size, but a house with only a few small leaks may be better served by a handy owner and the report. We say so.
Do you offer financing?
We don't arrange financing. Some banks and credit unions have loans for energy work. Ask us for the terms to compare, and read them yourself.
Are there rebates?
Your electric utility and the state's efficiency programs have offered incentives. They change often, so we don't print amounts here. Ask us which ones fit the work in your report.

A test, a report, then a written estimate.
