In plain words
What this does and doesn't mean
The EPA firm certificate means the firm is trained and registered to work safely in homes built before 1978: containment, a HEPA vacuum and cleanup that is checked.
Electrical and plumbing work in Vermont is done by licensed individuals. We hire licensed Vermont electricians and plumbers for that work, and our HVAC and heat pump partners are licensed too.
Insurance certificates are sent on request, to you or to your lender, before the work starts.
Questions about all this
My house was built before 1978. What changes?
We test the paint in the places the work will disturb it, set up containment and clean up by EPA's lead paint rule. Tell us the year when you book.
Can I see the certificate?
The EPA's firm lookup is linked above. Insurance certificates are sent on request.
Who holds the permits?
Whoever does the permitted work: we pull ours, and your electrician or installer pulls theirs.
